What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

Debbie and I left for Yelm to go shopping for fabrics that will work with the panels. 

We left around 10 am and were in Yelm by 10:45 am. We shopped for a while getting as much fabric as we could for the panels. It cost a lot to get what we needed. We are starting to run out of fabric that was donated. I did get a lot of yardages as well. Trouble with that is that the fabrics where $15 a yard. So, for what we bought, it too a good amount of money.

Today, another year has passed. We are now in 2026. Hopefully, life will be good and looking forward to having an awesome year ahead. 

Patrick went golfing while I stayed in bed. Then I was up and ready to get moving. I heated up the room downstairs, and I was ready to go. 

I want to have the 2 quilt tops done for Monday. I need to get moving on the panels. I received a pattern from QOV to use with our panels we ordered. I will do that next and it will give me another panel completed. Colleen wants ...

Today, I slept in. Patrick was up, but I didn't want to get up. 

I decided last night I would work on my panel quilts. So, I made sure I had the heater going down there. It was one of these foggy days, that make it cold all over.

Yesterday was the day we were collecting money for the Borst Park lighting show. I picked up some chicken at Safeway and then headed over there by 4 pm. Once that was done, we ate before getting ready for the cars to arrive. We ended up with 523 cars going through for the show. We got our donation check and will get another one later, after they figure out how much of the "keep donation" goes to our group. We had a blast. There was 6 of us and we handled it perfectly.

This morning, I actually slept in. I was surprised at how long I slept, but it felt good. 

Then I asked Patrick to heat up the fire downstairs. He had an appointment in Olympia this afternoon, and I decided since I don't go in with him, I would stay home and try to get a couple quilts done.

This morning, Patrick went golfing. Since our BE group is not available, we didn't have our meeting. 

I ended up getting the 2 quilts ready for Wednesday. We have our potluck sew days on Wednesday. Which means I needed to be ready with the quilt cut and ready to sew. 

 I was ready for Debbie to come pick me up. She wanted me to go with her to Gee Gee's Quilt shop in Yelm. 

She arrived at 10 am and we headed out. Stopped to get a tea/coffee and then off to Yelm. We arrived with the parking lot full. That surprised me. Debbie was looking for fabrics that would work in her memory quilt. She has a ton of photos and is making it for her daughter. I think it's good therapy for her to do this. We got a lot of different fabrics for it ...

 Today, we were up earlier than usual to get moving. We headed to New Balance shoes at the outlet stores. I needed to get new shoes to see if that was part of my problem with not healing on my ankle. I ended up buying 2 pairs of shoes because there was a sale on the shoes, plus buy one get one. I ended up with 2 pairs of shoes for $116. which is about what I paid for my Skeeters a couple years ago. I know, we are not supposed to wear the same shoes for 2 or 3 ...

Today, I wanted to just enjoy the day. But I needed to get a few things done, which didn't give me much time to enjoy the day. 

First thing, I had to go into town and see Phil, then I was back home. Patrick was working with the pressor washer on the back patio area. 

I was downstairs working on getting some of the tops ready for quilting. Rita said they have 2 quilts she will drop off on Tuesday for me. I told her to let me know when they can do more. She gave me an "ok ...

Patrick went golfing. I took the veggies that he had given me to take to moms. I had to go to physical therapy before the meeting. It ended up with me going to WinCo to get some tomatoes and I got some powered doughnuts (mini) for nibbling on. 

I showed Bob the stack of veggies I had. He asked if he could take it all. I said sure, it was going to mom, and the ladies always forget to take the stuff. He was being nice and left some of the veggies for the ladies. I took it to moms ...

Patrick was off golfing, and I was sleeping in. When I got up, I decided I wasn't in the mood to do anything. So, I started laundry. 

Patrick got home and made the comment that I said I would make the zucchini bread of grandmothers. I told him I could do it tomorrow, but NO, we were going to be gone tomorrow, and zucchini doesn't last long, so the sooner I do it the better. UGH He also reminded me about something else that needed to be done, so I had to do that first. Not my day ...

Patrick left early to go to his golf tournament. Nothing special, but he does it each year for the local Elk's. 

I enjoyed having the morning to myself. I actually decided to get some work done. First things first, I needed to finish the quilt for the Gala. 

After it was done, I realized I should have made the border a little lighter in color. The dark red doesn't help it like a lighter color would. I will give this to the church to work on for the Gala.

This morning, Patrick went golfing and I left early for gas and a Starbucks drink. Then headed to the fairgrounds. 

I arrived at the fairgrounds early. I decided to pay the $6 to get in. I have a couple tickets away I shouldn't have and decided to just pay the $6. Nancy was just in front of me when I got there. We were early compared to everyone else. It was nice, as we had plenty of time to get ready. I pulled out my feather weight sewing machine to work on some 9-patches.

I was out the door by 8:30 am to get to the fairgrounds. My judging time was 9 am. Rita was judging with me and we had to wait to get started. Deanna needed to do the running to get us going. We ended up starting late, I believe. 

They stopped for lunch, then we got back to it. We didn't get done till 7 pm with all the ...

I had to be at the physical therapists by 9 am today.  Patrick headed to go golfing and I was busy with getting up and getting ready. I arrived a little early. So, was messing with my phone. When I went in, he put me to my limits. Not fun but needed. We decided for me to stop wearing the brace for a week to see if the brace is part of the problem of not healing very fast. When I came out of the visit, mom was standing there. She wanted to make sure they got the message she ...

This morning, I was up with Patrick. He went golfing and I waited about an hour before leaving for Physical Therapy. Mom called me while I was there but didn't answer it. She seems to know when to call. 

 I went to her place after and dropped off some material that she wanted for cutting more 4.5" squares. OMG!! I don't know what I can do with all those squares. There must be enough for 20 quilts right now. AND I can't get her to put a quilt together!! She just wants to cut the fabric ...

This morning, I was trying to get a few things done before we headed to the casino. I had to pick blueberries and raspberries. Not only was I out there a while, but I ended up sweating by the time I came in the house. It was already hot! The sun was out, and I was killing myself by being out there picking berries! At least I was listening to my book while I was picking the berries. 

Then Patrick was ready to leave. He started out in pain this morning, so I didn't think he really wanted to ...

This morning, I wanted to sleep in but got up anyway. When nature called, I know I won't be able to go back to sleep. 

I was working on laundry, but that didn't get me far. Then I decided after some thinking, to go downstairs. I wanted to see what I could do with some of the "kits blocks" mom had that needed to be sewn. I worked on a few. Then I started laying out the quilt. I need to do a quilt for the museum to auction off. So, now is the time to do it ...

Today I was out the door by 9 am. Patrick wasn't doing well. I was a little worried about leaving him. I had to stop at a couple places and then make it to the grange. Colleen had a quilt for me, then I had to stop at Micheals for some floss. When I was done, Geralyn called to say McD's made a mistake and gave us sweet tea and could I pick up the other. So, I did. 

We sat and chatted for a while. Alice stopped in. We gave her the sweet tea. 

Today was one of those days. I was in the mood to do a lot of stitching. I even made some bread for supper today. 

This morning, I went downstairs to finish the quilt top that was on the floor. My next quilt is the one on the wall that Ann started. 

Since I didn't need to do much but get the borders done, I worked on that. I'm glad I cut the border last time, so I didn't have to have a lot of work to do. I added the stars and then put it all ...
