What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

 This morning, I woke after Patrick left for golfing. I woke to a dream where my younger brother had passed away. No one can go back to sleep with a dream like that. 

I ended up having to give TLC to Sophie as she meowed till I sat down. I played a few games and the Patrick got home. He was watching his "Love Boat" shows. So, I came in the computer room and worked on a few things.

Today started out with Patrick showering and then climbing back into bed. He said he was a little light headed and couldn't go golfing feeling that way. 

I headed off to moms and told him if he needed me to call or text and I would be home right away. He didn't. 

Went to moms and worked on labels for 2 quilts. 

Connie and I made this quilt. I really like it. I want more of her blocks if she will do them for me. This was fun to work on.

This morning I slept in. Didn't feel like getting up. When I did, Patrick had some rolls cooked. 

I was playing games when Patrick told me I would need to go out before the rain hit, if I was going to walk. I decided it was time to get back into the game of "life." I went out and got 2 laps in on walking. I didn't listen to by book, just walked. It actually felt good to get out and get some fresh air. 

Then I had Patrick bring me some quilts to work on the labels ...

 Today I was enjoying being home. I really like having the time to sit and just relax before the holidays and surgery. I did get a call from the nurse about surgery next week. I'm starting to get nervous but trying not to. Take each day, and I'll be fine!

Patrick went golfing but was back home by 11:00, guess they only did 9 holes. So, I didn't get the day to myself but that was okay too.

Okay, Patrick went golfing today. That was nice. Trouble was he didn't stay away long enough! lol 

I had to get a few things done for tomorrow. I'm working on getting the quilts labeled and ready to go. Then I had to get a backing and batting done for Connie. Once that was done, I put the quilts by the door to remember to take them. I have 2 quilts for mom to do the bindings on. Then I looked all over the place for the paper that I wrote our check list on. I texted Debbie and ...

 This morning Debbie arrived around 10:30 and we headed out to Shelton. She wanted to show me the quilt shop out there. Annie's Quilt Shop - I think is the name. Anyway, we took a drive up there. 

Wow! That shop has a lot of stuff. The funny part is that you have to buy in 1 yard cuts. You can't get 1/4's, 1/2's, etc. I was okay with that. 

We saw this panel and wanted it. Trouble is that it was a kit. Not very big. Plus we didn't want the black ...

 I got started on putting my stuff together in the crockpot for my artichoke dip. It didn't cook the full time here, so when I got to the grange, I plugged it in. First, I had to stop at the Church to drop off 2 quilts, then I went to Safeway for bread. Once that was done, I headed over to Connie's where she gave me 2 more quilts that need bindings on. It was a trade off since I gave her 2 quilts with backing and batting. I brought home one of her tops to see what ...

 Some days I can figure a title, other days, not so much! I wish at times I was good at this. 

Today was pretty busy. Guess I can say part of that is my fault for waiting till the last minute! Like right now - I have backing in the wash and needs to be dried by tomorrow morning. 

I started out with getting my gifts wrapped for tomorrow. Then I wanted to cut the backing and batting for 4 quilts. I asked the church to do 2 of the quilts. Before I realized 2 of the quilts were too small ...

 Today I woke to being sore all day. I hated having to get stuff done today instead of going to bed! 

I worked on getting the ornament done today and was thrilled when I finally got it done! I listened to by book and worked on the last tassel. I took the peach colored one apart. Then I worked a "delicate" tassel instead of a big honking tassel. 

All five of them are done. The one I just finished in the one on the left. Patrick went through them and picked out who was getting what. I have them all ...

 This morning I decided I wanted to put a couple hours in on the quilt downstairs. If I could get it done and off to Connie on Monday then we will be ahead of schedule. 

I finished it sooner than I thought - time wise. It was pretty easy to do. I like the looks of it. I really didn't want a big border to it, but I found that I was 5" short all the way around. So, I added a 2 1/2" strip which put me in the area I wanted to be for a quilt. Connie ...

 This morning I enjoyed sleeping in. Patrick slept in longer than me. lol He was going golfing around 11 am today. As for me, I wasn't sure what I was going to do. 

After he was up and moving, I went downstairs to get the heater going. I decided I would spend a couple hours down there to work on the quilt on the wall. 

I had my ideas on the wall. I needed to work on how I was going to do this. So, I started sewing the blocks together. I also sewed a few of the bag ...

This morning Patrick was off golfing. I got up before he left. The weather was cold, so he had to wait till 9:30 am to go. Then mom called to tell me I have to take her to the funeral next week. I'm not happy about it, but I don't want her to drive 2 hours to the funeral. I told her the other day I was not going. Now, because my brother won't stay 2 more days to take her, I have to. GRR

I walked it off. Had to! Once that was done and ...

Last night I wrote myself a list to make sure I tried to get something done today. 

1. Do certificates

2. Cut backing for Connie

3. Cut backing and batting for 3 quilts

4. Work on getting Smiley's stuff ready.

5. Get the backing washed

6. Send photo of color catchers to Bob

7. Look for fabric for mom

8. Get to work on finishing the quilt top

9. Put labels on 7 quilts

Now that list was on the counter. I had to go walking first.  Ron and I walked for the last time before he leaves for ...

Today was one of those rainy days. 

So, I went downstairs to work on my labels. I have to have a few more labels to finish up the 8 quilts in the bedroom. 

I was able to sew 25 labels and turn 9 of them into labels. I was texting Hildi at the same time. I was having a ...

 This morning I slept till 8:35 am and woke up saying, "Oh, Shit!" because I needed to leave by 9:15 am. Patrick got up but went back to bed because it was raining. I didn't know he decided not to go golfing, so I went back to sleep. I ended up doing a quick job of exercises and then out the door. 

I stopped at McD's to get coffee and ice tea. Once that was done, I headed to the grange. Gerilyn brought her wool quilt she is working on and said she wanted to do ...

 This morning I was enjoying sleeping in. Patrick did to. I finally got up after he's shower. Then I went down my list of what I needed to do. Donna was coming over at 11 am to drop off scraps of material. I got a call about 10:30 am saying she couldn't make it at 11 but could make it after I get back from my running around. 

I got a text from Colleen telling me she finished the quilt top and could she come over. I told her I would be home around 3 pm and ...

 Today I was out the door early. I needed to get stamps and then get drinks. I called the museum and asked Kylee and Chip what they wanted to drink. Then I got the three of us a drink. I also got the car washed. 

I arrived an hour earlier than usual at the museum. We were to be downstairs and they were getting stuff ready for us. I asked if we could be outside this time. So, they were kind enough to get us set up outside. We had a beautiful day and we thought that would be fun ...

 This morning I was up before Patrick. Then I sat and played games after I posted yesterday's blog. I don't know what I'm doing differently, but I keep forgetting to sit down and write. Patrick reminded me today. 

I waited for Ron so we could go walking. The rain stopped long enough that we could get some walking in. I don't know if it's going to rain tomorrow but time will tell. We didn't walk yesterday due to it being a very wet rainy day.

 Today after cleaning up and walking, I headed downstairs. I was listening to my book on audiobooks. It seems to help me when I sew. I don't think of what a pain it is to work on sewing. lol 

Yesterday I wasn't thinking about getting my blog done. Go figure. 

I walked with Ron and then came back in to get lunch. After lunch, Patrick and I went downstairs. I wanted his help on what to do with the 2 quilt tops I am working on. 

First things first. I needed to finish this quilt top. Patrick picked the blue and red for this and it actually looks better than I though it would. Once this was done, I got working on the next one.
